Pamukklale Tour and Salda Lake
Overview
Every tourist visiting Turkey wants to see Pamukkale. Pamukkale is one of the most important touristic places in Turkey with its white terraces, hot thermal water pools and the ancient city of Hierapolis.
Pamukkale is considered one of the natural wonders of the world and is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Pamukkale is known as ‘Pamukkale’, which means cotton castle in Turkish because it looks like a white hill.
Pamukkale’s thermal waters have formed the white terraces for thousands of years and the formation continues today. Pamukkale’s hot spring water heals rheumatism, asthma and some other skin diseases.
It is believed that Cleopatra was located in Pamukkale and swam in thermal water pools to beautify her skin.
A trip to Pamukkale also includes a visit to the ancient city of Hierapolis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city of Hierapolis was established next to Pamukkale travertines in the Hellenistic period and the thermal waters of Pamukkale were used to treat patients in ancient times.
You will have the chance to see Turkey’s largest necropolis from ancient times, one of the best preserved theaters from the Roman period, a Roman bath and other ruins of the ancient city of Hierapolis.
CLEOPATRA POOL
Cleopatra Pool is an ancient pool in Pamukkale and the water temperature is 36 degrees all year round. The water contains minerals that are good for some diseases, you can swim in the ancient pool for a fee. You can add the option of swimming in the Cleopatra pool when booking the tour!
Salda is World’s 5th cleanest lake. With limpid blue waters and white sandy beaches, lakenis named by people ‘Turkish Maldives’.
